We make house calls! Sexual harassment awareness training
Assembly Bill 1825 (AB 1825), signed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on September 29, 2004 mandates Sexual Harassment Training for Supervisors. It requires employers with 50 or more employees to provide 2 hours of training and education to all employees who have “supervisory authority.” This law is enacted in two phases. First, supervisors employed as of July 1, 2005 were required to have received two hours of training by January 1, 2006. The second phase began January 1, 2006 and requires on-going training for all supervisors within six months of becoming supervisors, and requires at least two additional hours of anti-harassment training every two years. Project Sister Family Services provides a two hour, anti-sexual harassment training to businesses and organizations needing to fulfill AB 1825 requirements. The agency’s professional prevention education staff will conduct the two-hour training. The two-hour PowerPoint presentation is very interactive and covers the following: legal definition of sexual harassment, examples of sexually harassing behavior, discussion of the two types of sexual harassment, discussion of both the state and federal laws governing sexual harassment and recommendations on sexual harassment prevention and options for victims.
