Save the date for Healing the Heart 2008Mark your calendars now for a festive evening on Saturday, May 3, 2008, when Project Sister Family Services hosts our eighth annual fund-raising dinner and auction, Healing the Heart 2008, with a fiesta to mark our 36th anniversary. Healing the Heart honors those who have given hope and dignity to survivors of sexual violence and child abuse. We have selected the beautiful Kellogg West Conference Center and Lodge on the Cal Poly Pomona campus for this year’s event, following last year’s great success. There will be an auction of fabulous items, delicious food, and many surprises, currently in the planning stages. Updates will appear on this web site regarding the event, opportunities for purchases of tickets, tables, sponsorships, and donations of items for auction. Healing the Heart is a wonderful way to spend a memorable night with friends while you help Project Sister to reduce the trauma and risk of sexual violence and child abuse for thousands of people of all ages in our 27-city service area. Healing the Heart raises funds for our crisis intervention services, such as our 24-hour hotline and counseling for individuals, families and groups, as well as programs in sexual assault prevention education. These programs include teen date rape prevention programs, self-defense classes for girls, women and seniors, and community education programs, among others. Last year, with the support of organizations, businesses, and caring individuals, we were able to assist over 26,000 people in all of our services and programs.
