Healing the Heart honors those who have given hope and dignity to survivors of sexual violence and child abuse in the East San Gabriel and Inland Valleys. Last year, with the support of organizations, businesses, and caring individuals, we were able to assist 49,735 people in all of our services and programs, nearly double the number from the prior year!
Festivities for the evening included a delicious dinner, live and silent auctions, and an exciting opportunity drawing. We were again pleased that the Reverend Karen Davis delivered the evening’s invocation.
Honorees
 Project Sister Family Services honored the Soroptimist International of Azusa/Glendora with our Founder’s Award for their longtime, generous support. It is the tradition of Soroptimist International to work toward improving the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. We are so fortunate to have the friendship of the Azusa/Glendora Chapter of Soroptimist International who have been so active on behalf of the women and girls we serve each and every day.
Project Sister Family Services also paid tribute to two very special programs, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Victim-Witness Assistance Program and the San Bernardino County Office of the District Attorney Bureau of Victim Services. Both programs are committed to protecting the rights of crime victims and to providing them with access to comprehensive services that help to alleviate the trauma and devastating effects
of crime on their lives. Project Sister Family Services works in tandem with these programs to ensure that survivors of sexual assault are helped to receive restitution, counseling and support through the court process. We are proud to be in community partnership with the Victim Services Programs of Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties.
Entertainment
 This year attendees were treated to the magical and comedic stylings of Justin Rivera. Justin is a professional comedian/magician/emcee from the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA. He has done numerous engagements for corporations, colleges, and comedy clubs including the Improv, and various private and public functions for 17 years. His unique style and combination of comedy and magic has engaged, delighted and amused people from many different backgrounds. Participants also enjoyed music provided by Music Entertainment Services.
